When I miss Summer, all I have to do is play some of Jack Johnson's mellow, acoustic tunes, and instantly I forget that I am in the middle of a long winter at uni with six assignments due next week! Jack encompasses a few of my loves in life; the beach, chilled music, and the environment.
Originally wanting to become a professional surfer, and having competed in the pinnacle of surfing competitions, the Pipeline Masters, Jack fell into music after suffering a surfing accident that left him unable to continue competing. He studied film at university, and his songs and film clips often center around the ocean. In addition to surfing, film and music, Jack Johnson's other passion in life is the environment. He set up his own record label, Brushfire records, which runs on renewable energy. He also uses his tours to promote care for the environment by partnering with a number of not-for-profit organisations.
While not my favourite track, I have included this clip of Jack Johnson's song, "From the Clouds" because it shows some of jack's interesting cinematography.
